Urological surgery
Urological surgery
Our urologic inpatient treatment covers the surgical treatment of male and female urinary tract infections and male genital organs. In our hospital we ensure the use of gentle surgical procedures.
Circumcision
Circumcision is a rather well-known procedure. It means that the doctor removes the foreskin of the penis. Indications for circumcision are phimosis, balanoposthitis or chronic urinary tract infections. It can be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient surgery. As doctors use absorbable sutures no, suture removal is necessary.
Frenulectomy of the penis
Frenulectomy of the penis is necessary when the frenulum of prepuce of penis prevents the full retraction of the foreskin. During the surgery the frenulum is cut or removed. It’s done under local anesthesia within 10-15 minutes.
Dorsal slit or incision
This is an alternative method to circumcision. Doctors do dorsal incision when conditions like phimosis (foreskin fails to retract) or paraphimosis (a failure to cover the glans penis) are present. It’s not that invasive as circumcision although it’s not a common procedure either.
Varicocelectomy
Veins could become varicose everywhere in our bodies.
When this happens in the groin area they’re called varicoceles.
It’s quite common and mostly occurs on the left side of the scrotum because of the body’s anatomy. Usually varicoceles are symptomless, however if they do cause problems or interfere with fertility it should be treated with surgery.
During surgery a small incision is made in the groin and through it, the enlarged veins are being cut to stop the blood flow.
Hydrocelectomy – Hydrocele treatment
Hydrocele means a fluid filled sack around one or both of the testicles. Your testicles are continuously producing fluids, which are normally absorbed. When this fluid isn’t absorbed and stays there it can cause problems which indicates the necessity of a surgery.
Spermatocele treatment
Fluid filled cysts in the epididymis are called spermatocele. They are usually small and benign, rarely causing any symptoms. However, when they become large enough or start to cause discomfort surgery might be necessary to treat this problem.
Meatotomy
Meatotomy is performed when special conditions are present (like meatal stenosis) and needs to be treated. In these cases the urethra is narrowed which is why surgery is important to ensure problem-free urination.
Castration
During castration the surgeon removes one or both testicles. Since this is an aggressive and invasive procedure it is done in special circumstances (for example at the onset of a tumor). The surgery takes 1-1.5 hour to complete and it’s done under general anesthesia.
Epididymectomy
When one undergoes an epididymectomy it means that one or both epididymides are being removed surgically. (Epididymis is a tube which connects the testicle to the vas deferens.) We only suggest this procedure when other treatment methods failed and the problem’s still present, causing symptoms.
Skin lesion removal
Smaller, benign skin lesions (scars, wart, atheroma etc.) can also be removed at H Medical Hungary. If you have any question, additional requests let us know via phone or e-mail.
Transobturator Tape (TOT) sling procedure for female urinary stress incontinence
The transobturator tape (TOT) sling procedure is a surgical treatment for female urinary stress incontinence. The aim of the procedure is to provide support to the bladder by placing a synthetic mesh (which acts as a sling) under the mid-portion of the bladder neck.
